And That Makes... Ten! [05 Apr 2006|01:38pm]

I've gotten wuite an encore on fanfiction.net in the last few days! I wrote a one-shot Yu-Gi-Oh: GX fic called "100 Paper Dragons" [Not the first GX fic for me, by the way], and already I got ten reviews! Ten!! I feel so accomplished...

On another note, we've had the strangest storm this morning: a mixture of rain and snow, plus wild winds, thunder and lightning! It didn't look like April at all... It's all normal now though. I kinda wish I took a picture of the storm; you wouldn't have believed it unless you've seen it. ^^

QUIET! Genius in Progress [18 Mar 2006|04:52pm]
[ mood | bored ]

Okay, it took me a little while, but I think I have a good overall plot going for this dream-based story. Read it and feel free to comment.

-------------------------------------------------------

[No title Yet]

Plot points:

[Christmas Eve- 2005]

-A teen mourns loss of his parents and unborn sister from ten years earlier; is living with a miserly stepfather named Jasper

-Teen makes a special Christmas wish to see his parents again

-The clock is literally rewound, and the teen witnesses the demolition of his old home set in reverse…

[Christmas week- 1995]

-Teen sees his family as it once was, including himself as a child; for now he is an abstract; a spirit who can look but not touch

-Santa appears to the teen (in the form of a slim-fit businessman), explaining fate and how difficult it is to be changed. The Teen thinks he’d be better off unborn, but Santa theorizes that everyone has a purpose

-Teen wakes up in the form of the family dog and begins to relive certain moments of his earlier life through the dog’s perspective; he realizes that while his boy self is around, fate cannot be changed and fears he’s been sent back in vain

[Christmas Eve- 1995]

-That night, the Dog sees Santa walk by posing as an ordinary man. Children see Santa and believe that it really is him, while the Dog believes in secret

-The Dog, while dreaming, envisions his stepfather Jasper for what he is on the inside: a “filthy rat,” for taking advantage of the impending death of the boy’s parents and stealing the boy’s inheritance from him

[Christmas Day- 1995]

-The Teen now understands why he was sent back as the family Dog; as a boy, he was unable to stop his parents from their impending doom, but perhaps as the Dog he can

-The Dog sees Jasper harassing his pregnant mother, thus forcing her to go into labor

-The Dog tries as hard as he can to catch up to his parents as they race through a snow storm in their car toward the hospital- this is how they were meant to die, in a car accident

-The Dog manages to save his parents… by sacrificing himself in the car crash

[Christmas Day- 2005]

-The Teen wakes up, as if he had been dreaming all along. Santa appears to him, this time in his true form- an angel. He explains that the family dog did in fact die that night, but thanks to his sacrifice, the parents were saved

-The Teen sees his life renewed, with his parents in it and everything seems to be in perfect order

End

Yet Another Stoke of Genius... Or Maybe Just A Crazy Dream [18 Mar 2006|09:27am]
[ mood | creative ]
[ music | "If I Were You" by Hoobastank ]

Forgive me for not wishing a happy St. Patty's Day to everybody yesterday... but chances are you were too drunk to even remember it. :-P I kid.

Anyway, on to the topic at hand!

This morning, I had a dream- the kind of dream that inspires a story. Maybe even a movie. Well actually, this one's more or less a Broadway musical. Heh, well anyway...

The story is about a young man who's lost the spirit of Christmas and just about everything else spiritual, when he remembers losing his parents one ill-fated Christmas Day. One Christmas Eve night in his teens, he makes one last Christmas wish: to see his parents one last time. Santa hears him, and the wish is granted.

Santa, by the way, is an elderly gentleman who's not so fat, and drssed in a grey businessman's suit as opposed to the red coat we all know him well in.

Anyway, Santa first gives the young man- we'll call him Mikey for future references- a delightful retrospective of how fate works (it was envisioned as a factory, with Past Present and Future having their own individual branches). In the middle of this, Mikey claims that it would have been better had he never been born; it would have saved him from a lot of pain. But Santa tries to reassure him that all people play an introcate (spelling?) role in life. Santa goes on to tell him that he can rewind time, and the fact that Mikey had not actually witnessed the death of his parents can give him the chance to change history in the form of another. Mikey accepts.

Then he actually witnesses time rewinding, as his old house is rebuilt from the ground up after being torn down years ago. Wait, let me say that again... The house was torn down as Mikey aged, but while Santa is turning back the clock, Mikey witnesses the demolition of his house play backwards! Yeah, that makes sense... I think.

Then he realizes that Santa took him all the way back to a whole week before the terrible day his parents died, so he's forced to relive a few days of his childhood without being able to change history at all. Santa, in spirit, tells him to be patient.

Next thing he knows, Mikey is a dog- actually, the family dog. (Yeah I know what you're thinking, "A dog? WTF??" Keep cool people, it's a DREAM!) It's actually Christmas Day now, and Young Mikey is nowhere to be found. It turns out he went to visit a relative, or something along those lines, and therefore he would never be able to stop fate from killing his parents.

And no, I do not know how they died. The stupid dream left that vital information out! ><

So as the family dog, older Mikey (this is confusing, isn't it?) CAN intervene with fate, because the dog was there the whole time.

And as the dog, he realizes that a friend of the family (who symbolically transformed into a rat at one point) knew that the parents were taking a dangerous ride (car ride? plane ride?) that day, and let them go, hoping they would die so that he can steal the boy's inheritance for him and then try to justify it by claiming the boy would be too young to take care of himself. So there's a big confrontation there between the dog and "the rat." Quite an entertaining one too; almost reminded me of that scene from "Lady and the Tramp." You know the one...

Anyway... Oh! There was one really cute moment when Santa was just passing by on the street out of good humor, and all the children knew it was him! lol

Oh, and did Mikey ever save his parents? .....I don't know, I woke up too soon. Now's the time where everybody yells, "AAAAAWWWWWW!" Heh, deal with it!

I'm actually thinking of making this a real story. Who knows? ...It could be a good one. What do you think?

While you think about that, I'll leave you with a new song that fits Mikey (as the dog) perfectly; picture him singing it to his younger self, who is oblivious to the fact that his parents may soon die.

I haven't gotten a reply from DJ or that many emails from people as I used to, making me feel unloved.

Still jobless.

Dad's been sick with pneumonia, and in the hospital now for almost a month.

Not many friends online.

...You'd think all this would all put me in a bad mood, but strangely enough I've been feeling just fine. Maybe it's thanks to all the kickass rock music I've been hearing lately.

Seriously, go buy the Avenged Sevenfold CD when you can. Those guys are modern rock gods.

I'm actually writing a Yu-Gi-Oh GX fic subtitled "Tournament of Kings." Yeah. I can't hold back the urge any longer!

It's set during an undetermined year at Duel Academy, most likely during the third year as I will incorporate Season 02 characters. I can't tell you the plot exactly, for as of right now it's a little sketchy.

But I promise you this:

There will be violence. There will be mild languange.
And... oh yes. There will be blood.

*laughs maniacally*

Oh, and in case you're wondering, No! I am NOT ditching the Digimon fic; I'm just getting a few things out of my system before my attention turns back to it. I'm actually more worried about my original work at this moment, but hopefully a little fanfiction will get me back on track.

The Dream Lives On... [15 Feb 2006|12:08pm]
[ mood | creative ]
[ music | "Lights and Sounds" by Yellowcard ]

I'm still alive, folks!! My apologies to all who've been trying to catch up with me and my humdrum life. Anyway, onto the news.

On the morning of Valentine's Day, I had a dream that I fell in love with a cloned guy with a freakish disorder- he had a face on his arm! ......Yeah. That's nothing spectacular, but I found it funny that I'd dream something like that on Valentine's Day. Heh.

Yesterday was supposed to be a cool day, though. I was expecting a lady to call me back about a possible job as a babysitter for her children, but she never called. Maybe my luck will change very soon, but I know not to get my hopes too high.

I'm glad people are still showing interest in my Digimon fic... And to those of you who are interested, read on.

The Digital Keepers Saga IS a Crossover fic!

If you haven't figured it out by now, then you obviously weren't paying attention to the first couple of chapters, in which I introduced CALUMON. His name's spelling was different, because I was using his original name, but there he was in broad daylight, and nobody seemed to notice! Well, when he returns to the series, he'll be officialy named Calumon.

Some readers may not know this, but Veedramon Zero, who've I've introduced to the fic a while ago, is another Crossover character, from an old Digimon manga. His incorporation to the fic will be explained eventually, as will the incorporation of the Tamers (yes, they're coming) and their digimon.

And yes, I am aware that not many crossover fics become smash hits; some people tend to "overdo it," according to one recent reply under my fanfiction.net username. I know exactly what I'm doing, and if you don't like where I'm going with this, then you best stop reading it now. It's going to get very, VERY complex.

And on a similar note, I'm very quickly falling in love with Yu-Gi-Oh GX [Next Generation], to the point where I'm willing to make a short fic series about such. I've been watching the sub online, so I'm pretty far into it than the average dub-watcher, so I'll almost definitely incorporate most of the show's second or third season into it. That is, if I get it done. If anybody's willing to egg me on about making a GX fic, give me a ring... or just leave a reply.

Now if you'll excuse me, there's a ton of new music that I must get back to. Ciao! ^.^

Well I'm finally writing something in my DJ. Before I get to the formal stuff, I have a special announcement:

My Digimon clique would be happy to know that the new chapter of my fic is FINALLY HERE! Yes fans, go read it now! Go! Why are you just standing there? GO, READ IT!

Okay, now that they're gone, let me get to the real news. It's been an interesting month that's gone by swiftly, with drastic weather and temperature changes, three or four birthdays (including my dad's and megan's), and gasp! The Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl for the first time... EVER! They're like our second favorite football team, so this is good news.

I've also taken a trip with Megan to her college upstate this month. Sure, it only lasted one day, but it was worth getting out of the house for once.

And an old friend of mine from college, Mike, has begun emailing me. We're like pen pals now, ain't that sweet? ^.^ Seriously, it's been ages since I've talked to this guy, so knwoing that he's still thinking of me as a friend is a very good thing. We might even see each other face to face this summer, Squee!

And I am definitely going to a Yu-Gi-Oh sneak peak tourney next month that will introduce the new set, Shadow of Infinity, to the public before it officially goes on sale. I had a dream last night that I got two YGO packs, and both of them were sorely disappearing. One in fact brought a T-Rex to life... Scary. I hope I get much luckier in real life.

Let's see..... what else has been going on? ...Oh, not much. Yeah, still no job. *sob* But hey, if Shannon can get a new job (yes she did), then damnit so can I. And I can't wait to get the art desk that mom and dad have been promising me since last month, so I can get back to work on my comic book! ...Yes, I do have a comic book! Where have YOU been?

Okay, that's all the news for now. Enjoy the music I wish I could bring you for real but can't.

Just ignore the title. [04 Jan 2006|09:26pm]
[ mood | chipper ]

1. What is your character's name?
- Dominic Nathaniel Verdi

2. What kind of character is it (furry, anime, etc) and any particular race?
- Young man; not quite anime-ish, but his story has anime potential.

3. What is the first thing your character would think of when he/she first wakes up?
- “What the fuck time is it? And why am I still here?"

4. Your character's favorite outfit would be?
- Anything with a trench coat.

5. When your character looks into a mirror, what's the first thing they would notice?
- His scary green eyes. No really, they’re scary.

6. Does your character have the same tastes in food as you?
- Don’t know; I never really gotten to that much detail about him. But I guess he’d like pizza as much as I do. Who wouldn’t?

7. How is your character similar to you?
- We both have Italian ancestry… and that’s about it.

8. How is he/she different?
- Everything else.

9. If your character could speak, would they have the same voice as you?
- Um, no. He’s a guy, and I’m a girl.

10. If you were to suddenly become your character, what do you think would be the first thing you would do as them?
- Try as hell to end my miserable life.

11. Is there something about your character that you don't like how others think of them?
- This sounds like two questions at the same time. Yes, I do hate how the world perceives him, but if you saw him walking down the street one day, you’d think he was the Anti-Christ too! But that would be a normal reaction, so I really can’t blame you there. As for me not liking anything about him, I love him to bits!

12. What advantages does your character have over you?
- He’s a god. Nuff said.

13. What disadvantages?
- His powers are usually triggered by his negative emotions- anger, fear, jealously, that sort of thing. That’s how he gets such a bad rep.

14. Do you have any secrets relating to your character that only you know?
- If I were to tell you, they wouldn’t be secrets would they?

15. Do you have any secret drawings only you know about?
- Well I have doodled him a few times, but never really liked how they came out.

16. Do you have any plans for your character or are you working on something big relating to him/her?
- Yes. An illustrated (graphic) novel series which I’d like to be made into an animated series or movie series someday. Big dreams, I know, but I can’t help it.

17. What misconception(s), if any, do people have about your character?
- That he is in fact the Anti-Christ.

18. If you could have just ONE characteristic from your character, what would it be?
- I’d like some of his powers. To be able to fly, turn invisible, shape-shift, summon fire, lightning, cold winds.. yeah, that sort of thing.

19. Have you made any characters that go along with yours, based on real-life people, that have the same relationship with your character as you with the real-life person?
- Um, no.

20. Have you written any stories about your character?
- Yes, but sadly none of them are published. *feels ashamed* I do however have an RPG going with him in it; some details about it have been reported in this very DJ.

21. How has your character changed since his/her first creation?
- At first he was bad, now he’s good.

22. Give us a one-liner from him.
- Here’s something from (I hope) the first or second book of “Kaods”. It’s actually something he thinks, not says out loud: “Oh, nothing much… just fell head first into the ninth circle of hell. But enough about me, what are YOU up to?”

23.- Weaknesses and DRAMA
- Oh God, where do I start? Uhh… Dominic is a cursed man, forced to become the master of an evil race of monsters known as kaods. He’s lost his whole family, one member at a time, starting with his sister when he was only seven. The one woman he’s loved more than anything runs away from him, then another one he gets attached to dies… Let me know when to stop. Okay, I’ll stop.

And to round this off, some random things about her...

- Dominic DOES have weaknesses. But I’m not telling what they are.

- Is constantly trying to kill himself or change his fate, but always fails.

- Eventually, he’ll have about nine mates- and that doesn’t just include the wives. And mind you, he’s with one of them at a time, not all at once. You pervs.

- He actually likes some of his kaod minions.

The Best of 2005 [31 Dec 2005|09:39pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Hey, I’m back. I’m sorry if I haven’t kept you up to date lately; I really spend time on the comp to check out my favorite sites now… Count ‘em, two. But I’m here now, to tell you I’ve had a fabulous Christmas and a very special birthday (which is today, squee).

I would like to say that I’ve had two dreams lately in which I conquer not one, but two of my inner fears: that of school and of snakes. I’ll go into full detail another time; right now I’m just trying to get finished what I’m about to unfold…

And now, ladies and gentlemen, comes the moment I have been preparing for since January. I promised myself that I would do this before the year was officially out, and here I am… counting down my absolute favorite songs of 2005.

Note that this is all my own opinion, so I’ll understand if you don’t agree with my selections. I’m sure you have your own list of favorites. But if you want to comment anyways, that’s fine by me.

And now, without further ado, I present to you my own Best of 2005.

26. Foo Fighters: Best of You and D.O.A. (I’m a bit tired of these songs, but I gotta give the band credit for the work they did this year)

25. Kelley Clarkson: Gone*

24. Backstreet Boys: Incomplete

23. 3 Doors Down, featuring Bob Seger: Landing in London

22. Judas Priest: Revolution

21. Coheed and Cambria: Welcome Home

20. Motley Crue: If I Die Tomorrow

19. Breaking Benjamin: Sooner or Later (they had other good songs; the album must kick @$$!)

18. Straylight Run: Extentionalism On Prom Night

17. Twista: Get Down Hit The Floor

16. Sinch: Identity Theft, and Power of Suggestion

15. Velvet Revolver: Dirty Little Thing

14. System of a Down: B.Y.O.B., and Hypnotize

13. Ozzy Osbourne: Sympathy for the Devil

12. Korn: Twisted Transistor

11. Black-Eyed Peas: Pump It*

10. Yellowcard: Sights and Sounds* (* late December faves; debuted just in time)

09. Frankie Jay: Obsession (this song became a repetitive pain in the @$$ by late March, but the radio was wide enough to stop playing it completely all through summer and fall… because of that absence, this song’s earned a top spot)

08. 10 Years: Wasteland

07. Slipknot: Vermillion

06. Avenged Sevenfold: Bat Country (they just previewed another song off their album two weeks ago on WYSP. I can’t remember its name, but I remember it rocked)

05. Muse: Stockholm Syndrome, and Hysteria

04. Danko Jones: Lover Call, Forget My Name, and Dance

03. Disturbed: Their whole damn album!

02. My Chemical Romance: Another whole damn album!

01. Nine Inch Nailz: The Hand That Feeds

Okay, I know what you’re thinking… how did one single song beat out not one, but two great albums?? Well, my friends, that’s part of the whole mystery of life. Ever since I heard that Hand That Feeds song, I could not- and still can’t- get enough of it. Henceforth, it deserves to be no. 1.

Well gang, that’s gonna wrap it up for me... for the night and for this year. I’ll be back soon with more reports and perhaps a new lineup of songs that I strongly recommend for all you head-bangers and hip-hoppers. …Well really, for you head-bangers. ;-)

Happy New Year.

Listen, My Children, and You Shall Hear... [21 Dec 2005|02:02pm]
[ mood | nostalgic ]

....about the really weird yet cute dream I had this morning.

I was back in school, which was actually a cross between middle and high school. Anyway, we were given a strange assignment to make up a short song. One of my classmates, Justin (who I remember but never really cared for) had the best of those songs, and I encouraged him to make it a real hit.

Then there was this other girl Dawn, she turned out to be my rival for Justin's affection (seriously, I don't really like the guy that much; this is all in the dream). So she listened carefully to the new parts of the song that I was writing, and tried to steal them from me. Then we got into a big fight. I think I won.

Yeah, not much detail, but it got me thinking... I never really did think of myself as the better singer of my choir class in high school. In fact, I was always shy and meek during all of grade school and the first two years of high school, and it showed in this dream. It was only when I felt really challenged that I decided to take action. In fact, I did challenge the real Dawn once- to be a lead character in the eighth grade play. I won. ^.^

As for Justin... meh. Maybe part of me's hoping for true love to come my way. I'd like it to, but I don't think I'm quite ready for it yet.

Right now I'm just focusing on Christmas...

I do wish I could remember that dream song. It was beautiful. ^^

I just opened up a pretty entertaining (and slightly enlightening) conversation with my good buddy Justin. Take a minute to read this and ponder....

Me: Sorry if I'm getting too personal, but I like hearing people's views. As for me, I go to church out of habit, but I'd rather just have my faith.

Justin: i went to church out of habit. but left.

Me: I see.

Justin: i'm glad i left.

Me: That's alright.

Me: Not everybody in Heaven went to church. ^^ I believe Ghandi's in heaven, and he wasn't even a christian.

Justin: you see..that's where the problem is.

Me: Problem?

Justin: yes, according to christian beliefs, the only way you can get into heaven, period..is being a christian.

Me: I know.

Justin: if ghandi wasn't a christian, then he isn't in heaven, according to christian beliefs.

Me: But that's where I disagree. If christians were the only people allowed into Heaven, then that would make God prejudice, and that would completely contradict what Jesus said about God loving all, and it's Jesus' teachings that christianity is based on!

Justin: heh.

Me: Isn't that just.... rediculous!? I mean am I the only Catholic that notices the loop hole? lol

Justin: *shrugs*

Me: Well then that's it. The whole system is out of order. XD

Justin: if you said that at a roman catholic crowd, you'd probably get stoned, or beaten.. it's the same way with all religion. every religion thinks THEIR religion is the way to get to heaven.

Me: Then I'd be a martyr, because I died for what I believe in. And according to just about all religions and faiths, martyrdom is a free pass into Paradise! XD

This morning I had an off-the-wall dream in which Matt Dillon- yes, the actor- was a wacky cop who was after an even wackier, Japanese serial killer. I've switched roles around from omniscient presense, to Dillon's partner, to potential victim. Yeah. Weird. ...Could make for an interesting movie someday, though. ^^

Today was meant to be a special day, as I was meant to meet an international online buddy of mine who's spending some time in the states for, I think, a couple of weeks. But sadly, things changed. He (Cyven's the name) had to jump on the first bus to, I'm guessing, New York as soon as he landed. Plus, my would-be cheuffers were busy themselves, driving around from basketball game to basketball game. But I did help mom around the house, and now all our Christmas stuff is in place. So I guess it's all bittersweet.

Now I'm hungry and awaiting dinner.

Well, I'm still alive.

But once again, my AOL is not. -_-

It crapped out on me earlier this week due to a "file damage," and now it might come to the point where I'll have to re-download the software to get it back. This has happened before, a few times, and it's really gotten on my last nerve.

But there's good news: Tina's back online, I've gotten a job interview, and over the weekend I've handed out appilcations to jobs at the Springfield Mall that are actually hiring! Am I finally going to get a job? And soon? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, my Digimon saga's been jumpstarting again, and its next chapter may be up and running next month. You hear that, fanfic fans? NEXT MONTH!!! ...Or January; depends on my mood. XD

And my mood lately has been good, because the holiday season is over my head and ready to drop down any minute. With it will bring my sisters Shannon (with hubby Shon) and Megan! Yahoo! And all the other good stuff that comes along in December... including my 26th birthday.

Wow, it's just around the corner! I better get shopping!!

Yes sir-ee.

This weekend I entered a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament that was actually a sneak preview of their upcoming set, "Elemental Energy." I entered a four-round draft tourney, which means they gave me a small handful of new packs and had to build a 20-card deck from those packs, then play with them. I actually got lucky and won 3 out of the 4 rounds, and as a prize I got 5 new packs! Yay! XD

I also did a lot of trading, and the best new card I got was a card I've been longing for since God knows when, Abyss Soldier! It's in my water deck, which has improved greatly thanks to that card and a few new others. Me sooo happy.

**~~@~~**

On a sad note, a good friend of my Aunt Claire's had died last week and I forgot to mention it. It was a sudden heart-attack, and his name was John. He was a good friend of ours too; helped us get the old huse ready to be sold. We'll miss him.

I Sometimes Wonder About Myself... [03 Nov 2005|10:20am]

So I had another Mario Bros. dream this morning.

What?

Didn't I tell you the others I've had? o.o

Oh well.

Anyway, it was sort of a "realistic" storyline, where there weren't any Goombas or Koopas, yet Mario had a few gadgets based on the original games, i.e. a turtle-shelled boomerang of sorts. Aso, there was a family motorcycle by the name of "Yoshi," and yes it was green. As for the villain? It was Wario (I think that's how you spell his name), which... kinda made sense, since there was no Bowser.

As for me, I played a dual role, as both Luigi and a female. Yeah... it got a little weird. But to my understanding, the female role I played was actually a Mario sister! o.o She too was a plumber and everything. ...She was kinda sexy too.

Can you imagine a sexy Mario sister? o.o
